The SLS RFID smartPOINT conveyor reader is designed to be installed in harsh industrial environments. Each antenna enclosure is constructed with extruded aluminum and is anchored to the concrete floor or attached to the conveyor. Each enclosure includes a Wave Antenna. The enclosures include antenna back planes to direct signal into the designed read zone and eliminates stray reads.
The smartPOINT conveyor reader utilizes Wave antenna technology so that the read zone is constrained without the use of an expense ‘tunnel’ enclosure while still enabling a strong read zone to identify, and encode, carton labels.
If reading/encoding item-level tags inside of cartons, such as apparel hang tags, then SLS can offer ItemEncode and ItemVerify software to further boost performance from carton level to item-level RFID tags while mitigating stray reads. When used in conjunction with ItemEncode/ItemVerify software, the smartPOINT can encode and verify thousands of tags per minute (Note: requires use of two photo-eye sensors and ItemEncode/ItemVerify software, sold separately).
